Comedy Comes to Petoskey
They say laughter is the best medicine, and at City Park Grill, you can get your fix with Comedy Night on Saturday, August 26. With six comedians and performers, there will be plenty of laughs to go around.
Six Michigan comedians to perform at City Park Grill including five from northern Michigan.
Headlining the show is Michigan native Carl Sobel. The thebtbpc.com shares that “Carl Sobel is a West Michigan comic that uses his sharp wit and loose style to make his mundane life seem interesting,” Featured guests from northern Michigan include: Brian Dryer, Joe Curtis, Scott Witkop, Leah Gray and BJ Smith.
As Daniel Gosciak, City Park Grill General Manager explains, “we all need a bit of laughter during the busy summer season,” which is exactly why hosting Comedy Night seemed to be the perfect idea. It’s no secret that Traverse City and Detroit are hubs for the comedy scene in Michigan, so when the opportunity arose to bring not one, but six performers to the Petoskey restaurant, Gosciak was thrilled.
City Park Grill is a well-respected establishment in the region, and for good reason. They are known for karaoke, trivia nights and live music, but this will be the restaurant’s first comedy night and everyone is looking forward to it. “We typically have to travel to Traverse City, Grand Rapids or Detroit to perform, so we are all excited to have an opportunity to bring some laughter close to home,” said event coordinator Brian Robson.
The menu at City Park Grill is another reason to stop by for a night of laughs. Grab dinner in advance with plenty of options like house-cut steak, local fish, and several vegetarian dishes. The drink menu is also something to note! And, nothing goes better with comedy than a glass of wine or one of City Park’s 16 rotating brews.
