Ray Marx-Drums
Also known as “Quadzilla”, this drummer has spent his entire life enjoying Cheboygan. His grandparents own a cottage on Twin Lakes and he grew up spending his summers there. It is there, one summer, his friend taught him to play the drums at the age of twelve. He fell in love with this area, and after he married his high school sweetheart, they settled here permanently with their five children. In High School, Ray sharpened his drumming skills playing in the school band and attending Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. He went on to play with several bands including Deffen, Pot Hole, 88 Decibels and Public Parking. A few of his musical influences include Bob Seger, Rush, Phil Collins, Neil Diamond, Twisted Sister, Megadeth, Soul Asylum and Randy Travis. Some his favorite things are music, hot rods, fishing and camping with his family, drag racing, building things and doing crafts. Ray wants to give special thanks to his Mom, Kathy Marx (AKA Hot Rod Granny), for pushing him to “BREATHE.” Also thank you to Brad Hall for teaching me to read music, and Rex DuBois for handing him those sticks for the first time.Eric Wheeler-Rhythm Guitar and Vocals
This Game of Thrones fanatic was born in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of a piano teacher. Yes, Eric was born to play music. He moved to Cheboygan at the age of 7. He moved away to Traverse City, Chicago and then Denver. He settled here in Cheboygan with his daughter, Hazyl, due to his love for this area. At the age of 14, Eric began playing the guitar. It wasn’t until he was twenty that he realized he had a desire to sing. His first band was Plumb Tony, and he played with them for two years. His main musical influences are Pearl Jam, Blind Melon, Nirvana, Trent Reznor, Presidents of the USA, The Pixies, and Modest Mouse. He is a lover of many musical genres. He has been a professional cook for 16 years, and is the Executive Chef and owner of Moulder’s Mobile Mouthfuls. When he is not working or playing music, Eric can be found kayaking, wakeboarding, snowboarding or longboarding. His favorite concert of all time was Deftones with Incubus and Taproot.
