Local Restaurant Group Donates $1,100 To Local Non-profit Organizations

MAY 29, 2019 | PETOSKEY, MICHIGAN — As a way to give back to the community and show thanks for all the support through the years, Wineguys Restaurant Group (owners of City Park Grill, Palette Bistro, and Roast & Toast in Petoskey) created Eating For Others. Now in its third year, this event is held annually the first three Wednesdays in May, when a percentage of dining proceeds is given to three local non-profit organizations.

Each year, ten organizations are selected by Wineguys Restaurant Group staff. Then, Wineguys Frequent Diners members participate through an online vote to narrow the list to three. The three selected organizations are matched with City Park Grill, Palette Bistro or Roast & Toast. “We were pleased with Frequent Diner participation, nearly tripling the 2018 vote tally,” says Bob Keedy, Wineguys Restaurant Group Partner.

“Eating For Others is just one way for us to give back to organizations that impact northern Michigan and make a difference in so many lives,” adds Keedy. “We look forward to continuing this annual benefit for many years.”

On Wednesday, May 1, the first benefit was held at City Park Grill for Little Traverse Bay Humane Society. Brother Dan’s Food Pantry was the recipient of the Roast & Toast benefit on May 8. The final dinner was held on May 15 with proceeds benefitting Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council. Proceed checks were presented to each organization on Wednesday, May 30, 2019, totaling $1,100.

In addition to Eating for Others, Wineguys Restaurant Group is community driven and continues to support northern Michigan by featuring local Michigan farmers and purveyors, like Martinchek Dairy, Plath’s Meats, Bill’s Farm Market, and Alden Mill House. Every Tuesday, they provide soup to Brother Dan’s Food Pantry, as well as food and coffee donations to Friendship Centers of Emmet County, Crooked Tree Art Center and Top of Michigan Trails Council, to name a few. In total, they support over 35 different organizations through monetary and food/coffee donations. Interested in the many ways the Wineguys Restaurant Group supports northern Michigan?
